Ryan Mason handed the easiest decision of the season after West Brom star’s display vs Norwich
Ryan Mason’s side enjoyed the taste of victory against Norwich City on Wednesday night after going winless in three.
West Brom were at the top of their game at Carrow Road as the Baggies came away with a massive three points after the first rough patch of the Mason era.
The result comes after West Brom disappointed against Middlesbrough, as Albion also suffered heartbreak against Leicester City on Friday night.
The win against Norwich has fueled more belief in West Brom‘s team, as Mason’s side now sit fourth in the Championship.
There were many top performers against the Canaries, as Samuel Iling-Junior impressed, but one man in particular has now given Mason an easier job when it comes to naming his starting eleven.

West Brom’s Josh Griffiths was immense against Norwich
Albion’s main number one last season was Alex Palmer, and when he left The Hawthorns this January, then manager Tony Mowbray had a big decision to make.
Mowbray had two options in youth academy graduate Josh Griffiths or Joe Wildsmith. Mowbray did experiment with Griffiths, but it was clear to see his preference for the experienced Wildsmith.
Minutes played | Saves | Goals prevented | Accurate long balls | Rating |

Griffiths has impressed for West Brom previously, but there’s always been a feeling of uncertainty over whether he would be Albion’s cemented number one coming into this season.
The 24-year-old has now shown Mason that he does indeed have what it takes to be West Brom‘s first-choice goalkeeper moving forward.
Griffiths’ form has been consistent since the start of the season, as he looks to kick on in his West Brom career.
Griffiths could be vital for West Brom’s promotion push
Every Championship club that achieves the feat of promotion has one thing in common, and that’s a solid defence.
The defence for Albion starts with Griffiths, as Mason’s side has shown on multiple occasions already this season, that they have a compact defensive unit.
- Griffiths has played all 8 of Albion’s league games
- He has kept 3 clean sheets
- The academy graduate has an average Sofascore rating of 7.03
West Brom now have a deflated Millwall on Saturday, which is the last game before the international break, as they will be looking to end the week inside the top six.
