Graham Potter, Priti Patel and ‘Ryan Mason out’ – West Brom fan meltdown after loss vs Millwall
West Bromwich Albion supporters were left enraged following their side’s defeat against Millwall.
West Brom were defeated 3-0 by Millwall in South-East London, with manager Ryan Mason encouraged to make changes to his usual lineup following the loss.
The Baggies sit one position outside the play-off spots, and have achieved 14 points from their opening nine league games.
In reaction to their defeat at The Den, West Brom supporters were left displeased by their players and manager, as some voiced their opinions on social media.

Ryan Mason called out after dull performance in London
Mason was appointed in June 2025 as the 34-year-old transitioned into his first role as a permanent head coach, following two interim stints with his former club, Tottenham Hotspur.
Before kick-off, Mason was called out for starting Jed Wallace against his former club, but the criticism only heightened after the full-time whistle.
This supporter was brief in their assessment of the game and simply called for the removal of Mason from his position as manager.
- @duckett_harry via X: “Mason sacked by February calling it now.”
- @BenjaminWba via X: “Like watching a Mowbray team last season honking.”
Another supporter backed up these shouts and demanded Graham Potter should replace Mason as head coach.
However, they attempted to tag owner, Shilen Patel, in their post, but instead tagged MP and Shadow Foreign Secretary, Priti Patel.
The reaction was not all doom and gloom for the manager as some chose to support Mason, citing his inexperience as a manager, while others chose to point the finger of blame at the players
- @ben_dallimore via X: “9 games into his manager career. Better to assess end of February or end of the season.”
- @harrisc_04 vai X: “Mason isn’t perfect by any means but when will people start to blame these average players? The same ones that absolutely capitulated last season? It’s not his fault he’s been left with Wallace as his only other winger option.”

Ryan Mason deserves time and patience
Mason’s start in the Midlands has been a mixed bag, and while yesterday’s result highlighted the shortfalls in his side, there have also been other results where that have left supporters delighted with their team.
The Baggies have also faced their share of bad luck with their gutting draw against Leicester City being a notable result that has not gone their way.

After losing key players such as Tjorborn Heggem and Tom Fellows in the summer, the manager was handed a difficult to task to try and make Albion a promotion-winning side.
West Brom’s next league game against Preston North End will provide a good indicator of how resilient they are when bouncing back from a disappointing result.
On top of this, with North End flying high in the early stages of the season, a win against the Lancashire outfit at The Hawthorns would inject some much-needed feel-good factor back into the club.
