Jayson Molumby speaks out after developments away from West Brom – ‘I don’t get enough credit’
West Brom star Jayson Molumby believes that he does not get enough credit.
Molumby has been a regular for West Brom under Ryan Mason, as the Baggies have made a solid opening to the campaign.
West Brom sit seventh in the Championship, after a run of just one win in their last five league games, after a near-perfect start.
Focus now turns to international duty, and Mason will hope his charges come back raring to go after the break away from The Hawthorns.

Jayson Molumby details his ‘anger’ on previous Ireland snub
West Brom star Molumby has a reputation for being aggressive, but he is keen to shake off that tag and keep his place in the Ireland team.
The 26-year-old was dropped for his country’s matches with Armenia and Hungary in the September international break, but he is back in the squad for the World Cup qualifiers with Portugal and Armenia.
He reflected on the snub, in quotes reported by SportsJoe.ie, saying: “It’s nice to be back, it was tough for me, I was gutted not to be selected, and it was hard to watch [the Armenia game].”
“You feel a lot of emotions, angry and disappointed. I didn’t get a reason; there is however many lads to pick from and they [coaching staff] were just focused on the players they had selected.
“I feel I’ve started well this season; I’ve started all the league games for West Brom and am in a good place.
“I feel like I don’t get enough credit for my technical ability. I’m not unbelievable technically, but I can manage myself, and I feel I’m good enough on the ball to play at this level, and I feel I get looked over for that part of my game.
“I’m not just some lad who is running around kicking people. Part of my game is being aggressive, and I like to add energy, but I believe in myself.”

West Brom and Molumby need to get back into form
Hopefully, Molumby can take the anger and disappointment that he feels and harness it into positive performances for Albion when he returns.
Mason and Co could use the midfielder at his best, to help raise the levels in the squad, and eventually qualify for a playoff spot at the very least.
- Molumby has featured 29 times for Ireland in his career so far
- He has not featured for his country since the 5-0 loss over England in November 2024
- He could feature against Portugal or Armenia in the coming week
If he can use his frustrations as inspiration to perform better for club and country, he could be a huge asset to the Throstles, in their ambitions of returning to the Premier League.
Mason needs the senior men in the squad to stand up and be counted, if Molumby is keen to change his reputation, he needs to be one of the ones to do so.
If he does, then the Baggies have every chance of securing a return to the promised land, for the first time in five years.
