Tammer Bany has serious point to prove as West Brom share ‘crucial’ announcement

Tammer Bany has struggled with injury since signing for West Brom in January.

West Brom brought Bany in from Randers in the winter window as part of four additions with promotion in mind at The Hawthorns.

Tony Mowbray failed to deliver a top-six finish in the Black Country and was eventually replaced by Ryan Mason over the summer.

The 21-year-old is yet to feature under the Englishman after Bany suffered a hamstring injury at West Brom in pre-season.

Bany is now back in West Brom training and has a chance to establish himself in the Midlands after such a frustrating start to life after signing.

Bany was handed a sizable wage increase at West Brom when he completed a late January move earlier this year.

This has only added fuel to the fire of annoyance regarding his injury concerns, even as Bany steps up his recovery with West Brom.

There is hope that the 21-year-old will soon be able to have an impact on the Baggies after a mixed campaign so far.

The Dane has been given fresh hope of doing exactly that after being named in the starting 11 for West Brom under-21s in their clash against Exeter City on Wednesday.

Albion shared the team news via X and revealed that Bany is in the side to pick up โ€œsome crucial minutesโ€ in B71.

The attacking midfielder has the perfect opportunity to build up his match fitness, but certainly has a point to prove against much easier opposition.

Ryan Mason must keep close eye on Bany progress

Bany may have been out for months, but could still prove to be exactly what the Baggies need at this moment in time.

Mason has only overseen one win in his last five outings, having lost 3-0 in hugely disappointing fashion against Millwall last time out.

There was a lack of attacking intent from Albion at The Den as the Lions created better chances despite having much less possession.

Introducing Bany into this setup could represent a boost for the entire squad if he impresses for the under-21s.

The potential for a telling first-team impact is in the hands of the Danish midfielder as he looks to build his match fitness.
