David Button could play vs West Brom as Shilen Patel proven right by headline sale
West Brom will look to pick up another win against Watford after beating Preston 2-1 on Saturday.
Ryan Mason got the Albion back to winning ways with a terrific team performance, with Watford next up for West Brom on Wednesday evening at Vicarage Road.
Isaac Price and Mikey Johnston scored stunning goals against Preston, helping the Baggies back up the table after a poor showing against Millwall before the international break.
West Brom remain promotion hopefuls, and after the Tuesday round of fixtures, they may have been handed a real boost ahead of another crucial game with Ipswich.
Baggies fans will all remember David Button, and not for the right reasons.

Ex-West Brom goalkeeper Alex Palmer came off injured for Ipswich
The Albion play Ipswich on Saturday, a couple of days after their showdown with Watford, in a fixture that looks very tough on paper.
West Brom sold Alex Palmer to Ipswich last season, and the former Baggies man couldn’t save the Tractor Boys from Premier League relegation.
The shot-stopper was forced off with an injury in Ipswich’s 3-0 home loss to Charlton on Tuesday, possibly ending any hopes of a playing return against the Baggies at Portman Road.
- Palmer was subbed off on 23 minutes and was replaced by Christian Walton
- Walton conceded all three goals in the second half
- Former Albion player David Button is the only other senior goalkeeper at Ipswich
After Christian Walton’s poor display from the bench, Ipswich boss Kieran McKenna may hand Button a rare start against his former club in West Brom, in a dramatic turn of events.
Button’s time in B71 was blighted by high-profile mistakes, thankfully now a thing of the past.
The Albion financially benefited from Patel sanctioning Palmer‘s sale, and everything since that moment has proved him right for the tricky decision to let the goalkeeper go.

Josh Griffiths continues to prove that he is just as good, if not better than, Palmer.
Josh Griffiths could turn out better than Palmer
After Palmer’s January sale in the 2024-25 season, Griffiths couldn’t fully nail down a starting spot as Tony Mowbray opted for Joe Wildsmith over him.
Griffiths has performed exceptionally at times this season and is slowly proving Mowbray wrong.
The academy prospect keeps getting better each passing game, as Palmer proved that he isn’t really cut out for the Premier League standard last season.
With age on Griffith’s side, he could even become a better goalkeeper than Palmer once was, as the 24-year-old already has three clean sheets and a Man of the Match performance to his name this campaign.
Should Button be named in the Ipswich side, West Brom will feel confident, given their past woes together at The Hawthorns.
