Grim Tammer Bany reality emerges after latest West Brom injury concern as expert speaks out
Tammer Bany has suffered from injuries since he arrived at West Brom in February.
Ryan Mason confirmed Bany would not face Preston last week after he was substituted early in West Brom Under-21’s draw to Exeter City.
While the Albion went on to triumph over Preston, the Dane is yet to feature under Mason after sustaining a hamstring injury in pre-season.
In fact, he has only made four appearances for the Baggies since his arrival.

Signing Tammer Bany was always going to be a risk
West Brom signed Bany from Danish side Randers in February 2024 for a fee in the region of £3.3million.
While injuries have kept him on the sidelines, Bany will feel he has more to prove at Albion, featuring for less than 90 minutes in total.
Indeed, given his price tag, expectations for him to succeed would have been high, and suggestions of a failed transfer have been rife, given his injury woes.
However, speaking exclusively to West Brom News, football finance expert Dan Plumley admits that this is a harsh reality of the transfer market.
“It’s the risk and reward aspect of the transfer market,” Plumley said.
“He is young, so with time on his side, you might feel that in the future that you could look back and it might be it might turn around.
“But when you get off to an early start and obviously not helped by injuries, and limited game time, that price tag then becomes a bit more of a factor, and that again, is just natural in the market, especially at that level.

“It’s a decent outlay, £3m is quite a lot for a Championship club to spend on one player. So it is always like that, you’re going to get that scrutiny.
“But of course, as I said, you know, the risk side of any transfer is injuries. That’s one of the things that you can do, all your background checks, you can do your medical, you can do all of that, and still be unfortunate with the way injuries fall.”
Could Tammer Bany make a comeback under Ryan Mason?
West Brom thought they were getting a gem when Bany arrived in February, and for good reason, too.
- He has netted 21 career goals at just 22 and has provided 12 assists
- 14 of those goals came at Boldklubben af 1893
- He has just one assist to his name at Albion
However, belief in the attacker is understandably at a low point. Despite this, there does not seem to be a better time for him to launch his West Brom career.
Given that Mason has recently arrived at Albion and is still figuring out his strongest team, Bany has the opportunity to make a positive impression. However, he will need to keep fit for that to happen.
