West Brom fans turn on Ryan Mason after post-Watford comments – ‘It’s curtains’

Ryan Mason’s management skills are starting to show cracks at West Brom already.

West Brom lost 2-1 to Watford on Wednesday night, as Mason once again struggles to build any consistency for Albion.

The poor result comes after a positive one at the weekend when the Black Country club beat Preston 2-1 at The Hawthorns, a game that many Baggies fans hoped would be a turning point.

Mason’s poor team selections for West Brom once again cost his side against Watford, and some fans have already seen enough.

Ryan Mason is losing West Brom fans’ faith

Shilen Patel was also disappointed with West Brom’s defeat, but it seems like the Baggies owner is backing Mason to the tilt.

The head coach spoke to West Brom‘s media team after the game, as he said: “Listen, we tried, the lads kept trying, we kept pushing, but it’s disappointing.

“We have to recover quickly, we have a game 50 hours from now.”

It’s not the first time that fans have heard something similar from Mason in a post-match interview, and fans are getting sick of it.

West Brom fans are not happy with their head coach’s post-match comments on Wednesday night, with plenty of reaction from Baggies fans on social media.

One Albion fan said, “You’re in charge and doing it your way, these players are much better than how they’re being asked to play, sort it or it’s curtains for me.”

Another Baggies fan commented, “I was never convinced from the start and sadly I was right, totally the wrong appointment.”

Mason can still turn it around at West Brom

For what it’s worth, there have been many positive signs at West Brom since Mason’s arrival.

When Tony Mowbray was in charge last season, the problems at The Hawthorns were starting to shine through, but even after losing the likes of Tom Fellows and Alex Palmer, Albion can still perform.

Isaac Price is having his own goal of the season competition, and Mason seems to have got Mikey Johnston back to his frightening best.

West Brom’s next three fixtures:

Josh Griffiths has improved under Mason, and Jayson Molumby and Alex Mowatt look solid again in midfield.

Yes there are problems, but Albion have a quick turnaround which could put things right. West Brom play Ipswich Town on Saturday, in a game that presents another opportunity to turn the tide.
