Graham Dorrans and Curtis Davies react as ex-West Brom player retires – ‘Legend’

Torbjorn Heggem’s summer exit and Tom Fellows’ move to Southampton are two recent examples of brilliant talents moving to different clubs.
Martin Kelly retired from football in October, becoming yet another player to leave the sport having worn the famous blue and white of West Brom.
Another former Baggies player has recently announced his retirement, with ex-stars Curtis Davies and Graham Dorrans reacting to the news online.
Scott Carson retires from professional football
Scott Carson officially announced his retirement from the sport on Thursday, with the 41-year-old enjoying his illustrious career at a host of clubs, including West Brom.
Carson announced the news on Instagram, with several football stars around the world full of praise for the goalkeeper.
Dorrans said: “What a legend,” while Davies commented: “Happy retirement mate. What a career.”

Having joined West Brom in 2008, Carson spent two of his seasons regularly starting for the Baggies in the Premier League, and spent the 2009-10 campaign helping the side return to the Premier League.
Despite suffering relegation to the Championship in 2008-09, Carson was given the West Brom captaincy following the departure of Jonathan Greening.
After leaving The Hawthorns in 2011, Carson would go on to play for several teams, before eventually ending his career at Man City.
Davies reacted to Robert Snodgrass’ retirement in January 2024, and in the case of Carson, the kind words could not have gone to a better professional.

Carson played for ten clubs over the span of his 22-year career, yet his biggest success came at Man City, where he was a third-choice goalkeeper.
He was part of four Premier League titles and the 2022-23 Champions League under Pep Guardiola, adding to the European title he won with Liverpool in the 2004-05 season.
Coming to the end of his career, Carson always accepted the fact he would scarcely play, and his character amongst the quad full of superstars led him to become one of the most liked players in the dressing room.
Carson has always been an incredible professional, and his retirement will leave West Brom fans reminiscing about some of his best moments at The Hawthorns.
