Ryan Mason hints at new West Brom signings in Sky Sports interview
West Brom manager Ryan Mason has suggested that they could be active when the transfer market reopens.
West Brom brought the likes of Nat Phillips, George Campbell and Aune Heggebo through the door in the summer, but they still have holes in the squad.
Alfie Gilchrist and Toby Collyer are currently out for West Brom with injuries, leaving Mason with even less options than he already have.
The Hawthorns boss has made his position on the matter clear in a new interview.

Ryan Mason makes transfer suggestion in pre-Ipswich interview
West Brom have been linked with a sale of Isaac Price recently, but there could also be a focus on incomings in the winter transfer window.
Mason has implied that the squad needs fresh impetus, bemoaning a lack of squad depth ahead of the visit to Portman Road.
Speaking to Sky Sports on 25 October (11:31 am), he said: “It’s probably right of the limit, in terms of hours of recovery.
“Not really is a position in terms of our squad depth and position to make many changes to be honest.”
Can West Brom afford new signings – will PSR be an issue?
Mason lost key players in Tom Fellows and Torbjorn Heggem in the summer as a result of Profit and Sustainability issues at the Black Country club, which arch back to the Guochuan Lai era.
Baggies owner Shilen Patel has previously spoken out about the PSR problems that the side have faced when trying to get back to the Premier League.
He shared his concerns in August, saying: “I find it odd that as you move through the tiers, the rules are different. At a minimum, there should be some consistency.”
- Championship clubs can only lose up to £39 million over three years under PSR rules (Compared to £105 million in the Premier League)
- Clubs must submit financial forecasts in March to show they’re staying within PSR limits
- If a club is at risk of breaching PSR, the EFL can force them to sell players or cut costs
However, Albion are believed to be on a sounder footing when it comes to their PSR position after the big sales in the summer.
Therefore, they should be able to add to Mason’s squad without having to look over their shoulder and worrying about the potential ramifications of a potential PSR breach, which will be a refreshing change for all involved with the club.
