West Brom fans love what Darnell Furlong did in front of them at full-time after loss vs Ipswich

West Brom continued their miserable run on the road as they lost 1-0 to Ipswich on Saturday.

Jack Clarke’s 83rd-minute strike has left the Baggies winless away from home since August.

West Brom’s defeat at Portman Road was another setback for Ryan Mason, who can’t seem to get a consistent tune out of his players.

Mason is facing pressure as the Baggies sit 11th in the Championship table, and the optimism supporters had at the start of the season has quickly dissolved.

Ex-West Brom trio applaud travelling fans after Ipswich win

After seven successful years at The Hawthorns, Furlong joined Ipswich in the summer transfer window for a fee that could rise to £4million.

After the match, Furlong, O’Shea, and Kipre all went over to clap the West Brom fans.

Their gesture went down extremely well with some supporters, who appreciated what each player has done for the club, yet there was a small minority of fans who booed the trio.

Another Baggies fan commented: “These players did well for us and undoubtedly would have still been with us if we didn’t need to restructure the wages.”

It’s a shame that some supporters booed their actions as all three players have played their part in West Brom’s recent success.

Darnell Furlong, Cedric Kipre, and Dara O’Shea have all been great servants for West Brom

West Brom were among the promotion favourites at the start of the season, and they could have done with their former stars at Portman Road on Saturday.

Kipre came through the academy before making 46 appearances in the 2023-24 campaign as West Brom finished fifth and were knocked out by Southampton in the playoff semi-finals.

O’Shea and Furlong were both part of the 2019-20 promotion-winning squad under Slaven Bilic, and were mainstays in the side that finished 19th in the Premier League the following year.

O’Shea left to join Burnley in 2023 after making 107 appearances over the span of four years.

Their respective efforts have not gone unnoticed by most fans, and it was a nice touch to see them thank the supporters who cheered them on for so many years.
