Ryan Mason offered hope by West Brom star as influential stats emerge in loss vs Ipswich
West Brom’s loss to Ipswich on Saturday has left them without an away win since August.
The 1-0 defeat at Portman Road leaves West Brom 11th in the Championship, with their strong early-season form feeling like a distant memory.
Ryan Mason is under growing pressure to deliver a consistent run of results, and it’s clear that West Brom are facing issues in attack, with their total of 12 goals scored the lowest of any side in the top half.
As for their defence, Ousmane Diakite’s horrendous mistake spoiled what was otherwise a solid performance at the back.

George Campbell impresses one more for West Brom
George Campbell left CF Montreal to join the Baggies in the summer, and there was initial skepticism over how much he would play.
Deployed initially as a centre-back, the arrival of Chris Mepham in B71 highlighted that he might not play as frequently.
However, at right-back, Campbell was one of the few players to step up against Ipswich.
The 24-year-old completed 87 per cent of his passes, whilst making four tackles, the most of any player in the match.
Campbell also made eight recoveries and six clearances as the Baggies looked on course to secure a valuable point before Jack Clarke’s 83rd-minute winner.
Despite being inexperienced at this level, Mason has put a lot of faith in the American defender, who has featured in all twelve Championship games this season.
There are very little positives to take from the defeat on Saturday, yet Campbell’s performance will be a reminder that he is shaping up to be an accomplished right-back for West Brom.

It’s not as if Campbell had tough boots to fill, as Darnell Furlong left B71 to join Saturday’s opponents after an incredible spell at the club.
George Campbell has successfully taken on the task of replacing Darnell Furlong
After seven successful years at The Hawthorns, Furlong joined Ipswich in the summer transfer window for a fee that has the potential to rise to £4million.
Furlong was part of the 2019-20 promotion-winning squad under Slaven Bilic, and made 35 Premier League appearances as West Brom finished 19th in the Premier League the following year.
Whilst Campbell undoubtedly has a long way to go, the promising signs are there for him to become an invaluable part of this squad.
Having won 59.4 per cent of his ground duels and 51.4 per cent of his aerial duels this season, his versatility and physicality is proving to be a huge asset to the team.
Should Mason achieve a playoff finish with West Brom, Campbell will play a huge role in ensuring it happens.
