Mikey Johnston dropped in three changes – West Brom predicted XI vs Sheffield Wednesday

West Brom take on Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday, as Ryan Mason’s side look to get back to winning ways.

A disappointing defeat to Watford was worsened when West Brom lost 1-0 to Ipswich Town last week, marking three defeats from the Baggies’ last four games.

It had been an impressive start to the season for Mason‘s side, but recent performances have provided cause for concern.

West Brom are heavy favourites to beat Sheffield Wednesday, however, with the Owls involved in an ugly situation under the ownership of Dejphon Chansiri.

But the Baggies will not be looking to take the affair lightly, with three points crucial ahead of a key Championship run of fixtures.

Ryan Mason to make three changes vs Sheffield Wednesday

Mason confirmed that Jayson Molumby and Toby Collyer are unlikely to face Sheffield Wednesday, with both players still recovering from injuries suffered against Preston North End.

In their absences, Alex Mowatt and Ousmane Diakite will likely continue in midfield for Mason.

Diakite was lucky not to get sent off against Ipswich, but the West Brom boss will have been pleased with the 25-year-old’s performance.

Mason will likely make one change in defence, with Callum Styles returning to the team in place of Charlie Taylor.

George Campbell, Nat Phillips, Chris Mepham, and Josh Griffiths are expected to make up the rest of the West Brom defence, despite the latter’s mistake against Ipswich.

Isaac Price will likely continue at the head of the midfield, while there could be returns for Josh Maja and Karlan Grant in the forward line, with Aune Heggebo and Mikey Johnston to drop out.

Samuel Iling-Junior has enjoyed strong form of late, and is expected to keep his place.

Aune Heggebo to be dropped for woeful display vs Ipswich Town

West Brom created very little against Ipswich Town, but it was a particularly dismal day for Heggebo.

In his 82 minutes on the pitch, the striker completed just five passes and only touched the ball 20 times, with just one of those coming in the opposition’s penalty area.

The 24-year-old was strong in the duel, but could not make the most of any of the positions he found himself in.

Maja is still gradually making his return to full fitness, and may be handed the start against Sheffield Wednesday.
