Vitor Pereira confirms what West Brom fans have been saying about Wolves since the dawn of time

Vitor Pereira has prompted an uproar after he described Wolves as a “small club” in the aftermath of his side’s defeat to Chelsea on Wednesday.

A chaotic affair ended 4-3 to the visitors, and ended Wolves’ participation in the Carabao Cup, also marking Pereira’s side’s third consecutive loss.

The Premier League side have endured a dismal start to the season, allowing the Baggies some comic relief after West Brom lost 1-0 to Ipswich Town.

West Brom will play Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday, with Ryan Mason‘s side hoping to get back to winning ways in the Championship.

In what will come as a boost to the former Tottenham interim boss, West Brom are huge favourites to beat Sheffield Wednesday to get back on track.

Vitor Pereira prompts outrage with hilarious blunder

Pereira enjoyed a huge impact at Wolves when he arrived last season. The former Porto boss guided his side, who had sat 19th in the Premier League, to a 16th-placed finish.

This season, however, all positivity has gone out of the window at Molineux. Wolves are yet to win a league game this season, and Pereira himself was involved in a confrontation with the fans on Sunday.

Just last month, decision-makers had taken the bemusing decision to hand the 57-year-old a new three-year contract, which may well result in an expensive pay-off, should Pereira be dismissed in the coming weeks.

Speaking to Wolves TV after his side had been knocked out of the Carabao Cup on Wednesday, the Portuguese manager said: “We are family. We are a small club, we need to be together and we need to feel proud.

“Sometimes we are not getting the results that we need but we are so close, that we just need resilience from them, and from ourselves.”

West Brom fans will be loving Pereira

Pereira is only repeating what West Brom fans have been saying all along. The Baggies are the Black Country’s finest, and before long, will be back where they should be.

West Brom – next fiveDate
Sheffield Wednesday (H)1 Nov
Charlton (A)4 Nov
Oxford United (H)8 Nov
Coventry City (A)22 Nov
Birmingham City (H)26 Nov

This season could see the clubs’ positions reversed, with Wolves almost certainly the favourites to be relegated.

Mason’s side will have to get their act together to make that happen, however, although the play-offs are well within reach.
