West Brom rising star called up for U17 World Cup alongside Borussia Dortmund duo

West Brom talent Dauda Amihere Iddrisa has been called up to the Italy Under-17 World Cup squad.

The Baggies have already seen Iddrisa in West Brom’s first-team action under Carlos Corberan, who handed him his professional debut as West Brom lost 2-1 to Fleetwood Town in February.

The defensive midfielder has since signed a professional deal at The Hawthorns, and he has now been called up to the U17s World Cup squad, confirmed by the Italian Football Federation on 21 October.

Iddrisa will feature as Italy prepares to face off against hosts Qatar, as well as Bolivia and South Africa, throughout November in Doha.

Should the versatile midfielder reach the final with his country, Ryan Mason and Co. can expect to be without his services until 27 November.

Dauda Amihere Iddrisa joined by top talents in Italy U17s squad

West Brom are preparing to face Sheffield Wednesday to begin November, with the hope of returning to a winning run of form.

Clashes against Charlton Athletic, Oxford United and Coventry City will follow for West Brom, with the trip to face the Addicks coming after Iddrisa’s departure to Qatar.

The 2008-born talent will represent a point of interest for supporters in B71 as he prepares to feature alongside various young stars in Doha.

Luca Reggiani and Samuele Inacio of Borussia Dortmund will both feature for Ni Azzurri alongside Alessandro Longoni and Simone Lontani of AC Milan and Sebastiano Nava, Borasio Benit and Destiny Onoguekhan Elimoghale of Juventus.

As part of a 21-man squad, it is excellent to see Iddrisa represent the Albion alongside a host of starlets from the world’s biggest and best clubs.

Iddrisa could become West Brom regular after Italy U17 duty

Albion are in desperate need of some inspiration right now after three defeats across their last four Championship outings.

Mason is coming under heavy scrutiny and has yet to find his winning formula as Baggies boss.

Should the frustration around the squad continue, the Englishman could look to call on young talent to help bring a buzz back to The Hawthorns.

Iddrisa would likely be one of the names at the top of the list, having already made his debut after 20 appearances for West Brom’s development team.

Everyone associated with the Black Country club will be keen to see how the Italian performs at the upcoming tournament and what that could mean for his first-team prospects.
