Tammer Bany one of 10 who could miss West Brom vs Sheffield Wednesday after team news latest

Tammer Bany’s comeback may not happen in West Brom’s clash with Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.

Bany has had several injury issues since joining West Brom, and fans at The Hawthorns are yet to see him at his full potential.

Bany has been out of first-team action since the 2-1 win over Bristol City in April, and has only played 45 minutes for the Under-21s this season.

It does not seem as though he will return for the clash against the crisis club on 1 November, from the start anyway.

Ryan Mason shares West Brom injury update ahead of Sheffield Wednesday clash

West Brom cannot call on Manchester United loanee Toby Collyer for the clash, and they have several other injury problems.

Ryan Mason confirmed that Bany, Jayson Molumby and Jed Wallace are not fit enough to feature, but there was a more positive update on Alfie Gilchrist.

In his pre-match media duties on 31 October, he said: “They’re [Collyer and Molumby] improving but they’re not an option for the game.

I think naturally any player that’s injured, each day is important and you keep progressing so they’re progressing but they’ve not trained with the team yet and certainly not an option.

“Alfie (Gilchrist) is ok. He’s alright. He’s trained this week. Obviously he was on the bench against Ipswich with some painkillers and he’s trained this week so he’s an option.

“He’s [Bamy] not ready to start definitely not, but he’s trained with us all of this week, and he’s an option to be part of the squad.”

He also stated that Wallace was “not an option.”

Who is out for Sheffield Wednesday vs West Brom?

Wednesday have a load of problems at the moment, most importantly, the 12-point deduction that they were handed for going into administration.

Their supporters are looking forward to a brighter future, though, after finally getting rid of Dejphon Chansiri, something Albion fans can empathise with, after the woeful Guochuan Lai era.

On the pitch, they have several issues too, as Pierce Charles and Di’Shon Bernard are long-term absentees and Henrik Pedersen confirmed three more players are set to miss out.

Speaking to The Star ahead of the contest, he said: “Olaf [Kobacki] has had problems again after training. So he’s had a setback of maybe two to four weeks – we’re not yet sure exactly how long it will take.

“[Nathaniel] Chalobah will also still take some weeks, George [Brown] will still take four or five weeks. So I don’t think we’ll be seeing some of the guys in the next few weeks.”

Given the chaos at Hillsborough, the Baggies are expected to get the job done, even with their dismal recent form.

If they fail to do so, in front of their own fans, their playoff chances will be significantly reduced, and Mason may find himself under pressure.
