West Brom and Sheffield Wednesday fans in unison over ‘horrendous’ scenes at The Hawthorns

Sheffield Wednesday and West Brom fans have hit out in unison at the kit clash for Saturday’s contest.

West Brom played Sheffield Wednesday at The Hawthorns in the Championship, but the choice of kits were clearly not thought out beforehand.

Ryan Mason would have been hoping for a Baggies win coming into the contest, as West Brom are still hopeful of promotion.

Tammer Bany was a doubt for West Brom, but he made the squad against the Owls; however, the main talking points were what kits both teams strangely opted to play.

West Brom and Sheffield Wednesday fans can’t believe kit clash

Sheffield Wednesday sat on minus six points coming into the clash against the Black Country club, following their announcement of entering administration.

Despite this, Mason still fielded a strong starting 11 as he knew that the Owls were going to put up a fight regardless.

Both sets of fans have taken to X to comment on the frustrating scenes that they both have to watch, with the kits almost undistinguishable when the sun reflects off them.

One fan could not believe the “horrendous” scenes in front of their eyes.

They said: “Who signed off on these kits today? Horrendous kit clash for TV. Everything looks like a blur of white and blue. Both teams are in white shorts and navy/purple socks, too.”

Even an X user who is a Tottenham fan, Millsy, pointed out how ridiculous it is to see two teams sharing the same colour of shorts.

A win is huge for either West Brom or Sheffield Wednesday

West Brom have shown signs of inconsistency this season, but at times, have proved how they can be genuine contenders to reach the play-offs.

The first half was a cagey affair in which Albion saw more of the ball but ultimately did little with it.

Due to Wednesday now being in administration, the Owls were hit with an instant 12-point deduction which follows EFL rules.

Both sides will be hoping to have an improved second half, as the Baggies currently look more likely to get the win.
