Josh Maja sends ‘proud’ message after West Brom milestone in draw vs Sheffield Wednesday
Josh Maja made his 50th appearance for West Brom on Saturday, as the Baggies marked their third consecutive Championship match without victory.
West Brom drew 0-0 with Sheffield Wednesday at The Hawthorns, sparking huge frustration among the fans.
Ryan Mason had hoped his side could get back to winning ways against the Owls, who sit at the bottom of the Championship amid huge financial issues prompted by Dejphon Chansiri.
But West Brom were slammed for their performance against Sheffield Wednesday, with the Baggies ultimately creating very little.
Mason was booed by the West Brom fans at full-time, with the Englishman now facing huge pressure to start getting wins on the board.

Josh Maja sends message after West Brom draw
West Brom signed Aune Heggebo in the summer, with the striker’s arrival, combined with injury issues, meaning Maja has spent much of the season on the bench.
The striker returned to the starting line-up against Sheffield Wednesday; however, but struggled to get into the game.

Maja took just one shot and could only manage four touches in the opposition’s penalty area.
It was a performance that summed up West Brom‘s struggles, rather than his own, with the striker often left to feed off scraps as the Baggies failed to break down the visitors’ defence.

The appearance was Maja’s 50th for West Brom, and he took to Instagram to celebrate the milestone. “Proud moment. God is gracious,” the 26-year-old wrote.

What Ryan Mason said about ‘disappointing day’ as pressure grows
It does not get much easier for West Brom in the coming weeks. After games against Charlton and Oxford United, the Baggies face league leaders Coventry City and Birmingham.
Speaking after Saturday’s draw, Mason said: “We know there are no easy games in this division, but it’s a disappointing day because we really want to win games at home and we need to win games of football. There’s a massive disappointment about today.”
The Englishman’s disappointment is felt throughout – this felt like one West Brom really needed to win. It will be the Baggies boss who faces the consequences if results do not pick up before too long, however.
