Karlan Grant in line for West Brom recall after what teammate did in Sheffield Wednesday draw
Karlan Grant could be set for a West Brom recall on the basis of the hugely disappointing 0-0 draw with Sheffield Wednesday.
West Brom failed to beat Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday lunchtime, the same side who are sat on minus points in the Championship.
West Brom were backed to beat Sheffield Wednesday, and rightly so, but even the roaring crowd at The Hawthorns couldn’t spur Mason‘s men on to victory as the game ended 0-0.
Karlan Grant has returned from injury for the Black Country club and earned healthy minutes off the bench, as the winger is braced to capitalise on the poor performance from one teammate.

Samuel Iling-Junior was useless against Sheffield Wednesday
When he was brought to the club, Samuel Iling-Junior promised potential for Albion with an England youth team background.
The Aston Villa loanee has had just one standout moment at West Brom so far, a solo goal against Leicester City, as he failed to make an impact again versus the Owls.
| Minutes | Accurate passes | Dribbles | Possession lost | Ground duels lost | Fouls | Rating |
| 60 | 12/20 | 0 | 16 | 6 | 2 | 6.3 |
Iling-Junior is supposed to be one of Albion’s more luxurious players, but the winger didn’t even attempt a single dribble against Wednesday.
He lost the ball a total of 16 times, as Mason saw enough on the hour mark and replaced him with Grant.

Now, with Grant back in the fold, Iling-Junior’s days at Albion could be numbered.

Karlan Grant to benefit as Iling-Junior could have loan cut
If Iling-Junior keeps up his uninspiring performances, there’s potential that Villa could recall him back, or even Albion may decide to send him back.
Being on loan from a Premier League club, Iling-Junior’s wages won’t come cheap, as Mason may now look to use players who are at Albion for the long term.
Since coming back from injury, Grant has made cameos against Watford and Ipswich Town, but earned the most minutes off the bench against Sheffield Wednesday.
With more minutes in his legs, Mason will most likely look to use Grant and his experience in Albion’s upcoming Championship game against Charlton.
