Carlos Corberan to West Brom return not so fanciful after what’s now being reported in Spain
Carlos Corberan could yet return to West Brom one day in the near future as the sack at Valencia reportedly looms.
West Brom fans have their hopes up Corberan could return to The Hawthorns, a little under a year on from joining Valencia.
Corberan enjoyed big success in his maiden campaign in LaLiga, but Valencia have endured a torrid start to the 2025-26 campaign.
The Spaniard’s struggles in his homeland coincide with Ryan Mason’s job at West Brom being called into question for the first time.
And it may well be that Corberan is back on the market very soon indeed amid reports emerging from Spain.

Carlos Corberan could be one game from Valencia sack
Valencia were thrashed 4-0 by Real Madrid at the weekend and have just nine points from their first 11 games, placing them inside the LaLiga relegation zone.
Even ex-Albion striker Salomon Rondon has contributed to Corberan’s woes this season, with the 42-year-old unable to catch a break.
Now, according to Las Provincias, Corberan has lost the support of his dressing room.
And a separate report from Spain suggests Corberan could be sacked if he loses either against Real Betis or Levante in their next two fixtures.
Given Valencia’s record this season, it is not far-fetched at all to suggest Corberan will be out of work ahead of the one-year anniversary of his West Brom exit.
Ryan Mason to look over his shoulder if Corberan leaves Valencia
Mason needs to start winning games if he is himself to avoid coming under serious pressure at West Brom.
A number of candidates to replace Mason at West Brom have emerged, with Corberan’s name one to add to the list if he does indeed leave Valencia.
Swapping a top-flight Spanish club for a Championship team may seem like a step backwards on the face of it, but Corberan’s stock has undoubtedly fallen this season.
| Fixture | Scoreline |
| Valencia vs Oviedo | 2-1 L |
| Girona vs Valencia | 2-1 L |
| Alaves vs Valencia | 0-0 D |
| Valencia vs Villarreal | 0-2 L |
| Real Madrid vs Valencia | 4-0 L |
It may well be that the Spaniard holds out for a different position, but he is loved at The Hawthorns – even if he did jump ship last year – and it could be a match that suits both parties.
That will only be possible if Valencia sack Corberan, though, and this is a situation every West Brom fan will be watching closely.
