West Brom fans ‘don’t want Carlos Corberan back’ at The Hawthorns as sack looms

Carlos Corberan is unlikely to be welcomed back to West Brom with open arms.

Ryan Mason is under pressure at West Brom after what has been a hugely disappointing start to life at The Hawthorns.

The Baggies have gone four without a win, culminating in Charlton Athletic’s late victory over West Brom last time out.

Valencia, under Corberan, are in a similar position and have failed to secure three points in LaLiga since September.

Corberan is coming under pressure of the sack in his homeland, opening up speculation of a potential return to B71, but a section of supporters don’t want him back.

West Brom fans warn off Carlos Corberan hire

Corberan left West Brom for Valencia in December and left the Black Country outfit in a difficult place on Christmas Day.

Things only went downhill as Tony Mowbray came in and couldn’t get a positive tune out of his side before they fell out of the Play-Offs.

Mason came in to take charge over the summer, but has similarly faced struggles that have seen him face stern criticism at The Hawthorns.

Should he leave, it is unclear who could replace the Englishman, with many suggesting Corberan’s name as a potential replacement, given that the sack potentially looms at Valencia.

Some fans would welcome the Spaniard back to the Midlands with open arms, but that is far from the consensus.

One supporter has urged the Baggies to learn, taking to X to say: “I don’t want Corberan back when we will Albion as a club learn never appoint a manager who’s been at the club before.

Another echoed this sentiment, adding: “I cannot believe people are begging for corberan back.”

One fan has urged his fellow Albion supporters to “chill out” over wanting the 42-year-old back after he forced an exit in his initial tenure.

Another says that he “liked” Corberan, but doesn’t want to go back, which does sum up many supporters in the Black Country.

Corberan urged to stay away from West Brom

The ex-Huddersfield Town boss did have a productive spell at The Hawthorns, but it seems clear that sections of the fan base do have a rose-tinted view of his time in B71.

Albion may have been a shoo-in for the Play-Offs, but supporters remain unsold about his pragmatic play style and approach.

It is unclear at this stage whether Corberan will be sacked at Valencia, but it does seem as if Championship interest would be high if he were to leave the Bats.

West Brom may move Mason on with a view to landing their former boss, but it is clear that mixed opinions already surround the head coach.
