West Brom told what they can’t do as Ryan Mason pressure mounts
West Brom manager Ryan Mason is under increasing pressure at the moment.
West Brom have won just one of their last six Championship matches, and have fallen to 15th place in the division as a result.
Mason was expected to lead West Brom’s promotion charge, but so far, he has been unable to do so, since leaving his coaching role at Tottenham.
West Brom supporters are starting to turn on the boss, and Shilen Patel and Co. may have a decision to make sooner, rather than later.

West Brom urged not to panic with Ryan Mason pressure
While West Brom’s chances of Premier League football next season look extremely unlikely right now, things can change very quickly in the second tier.
That is the message that has been echoed by former top-flight star Lee Hendrie, who urged the Baggies not to pull the trigger on sacking Mason yet.
Speaking to Football League World on 6 November, he said: “I’m not a big fan of pushing the panic button just yet, because as I said, you know there’s a winnable game coming up against Oxford, and then you go and get something out of the next two, which are derby games, and all of a sudden, you’re flavour of the month.
“This is the Championship, it’s a difficult league, you can get two or three wins under your belt, and suddenly you’re in the play-offs, so I don’t think it’s that time yet, but as I said, the two derby games coming on the horizon, you do feel that that’s where he has to certainly go and get some wins to turn his favours around.”

Hendrie is right, Mason deserves more time at West Brom
Mason deserves more time to try and turn things around at The Hawthorns, his start was very encouraging.
For starters, he was not backed properly in the summer, perhaps due to the Profit and Sustainability situation, which saw the likes of Torbjorn Heggem and Tom Fellows sold, and still managed decent results.
Albion may have signed the likes of Nat Phillips, George Campbell and Aune Heggebo, but they needed more recruits to be truly competitive.
The unpredictable nature of the division means that the 34-year-old could turn the tables in his favour soon, if he can get his players firing.
He has shown a willingness to gamble, completely overhauling his system for the 1-0 loss to Charlton last time out, which is a positive sign.
It shows that he is not rooted to one particular type of playing, and if his players had finished the chances that they created, the result may have been different.
Mason needs a chance to show that he can turn it around, and he needs to be backed in the winter transfer market, because the squad is clearly still lacking.
