Ryan Mason must be sacked if West Brom oversee humiliating feat vs Oxford United
West Brom take on Oxford United on Saturday, with pressure increasing on Ryan Mason.
The Baggies have fell to 15th in the Championship after a terrible run of form.
Now five points off the playoffs after West Brom’s defeat to Charlton Athletic, there are few signs that this will improve.
As a result, there have been calls for Ryan Mason to be sacked at The Hawthorns, despite only joining the Black Country club in the summer.
However, this wish may soon become a reality.

West Brom must score against Oxford United to avoid terrible goalless streak
One of the biggest problems with Mason’s West Brom is their lack of goals.
To date, the Baggies have only scored 12 goals in the Championship in 14 matches, easily one of the lowest in the division.
While players like Aune Heggebo have been awful for West Brom, much of this is down to Mason’s tactics.
- West Brom have been goal-shy all season
- Isaac Price is the Baggies’ only player this season who has scored more than two goals
- Mason has been consistently criticised for his attacking tactics
Now, after three consecutive goalless games, BBC Sport on 7 November has confirmed that if the Baggies fail to score past Oxford United, it will be the first time they have not netted in four consecutive league games since 2022.
If this happens, West Brom simply have to sack Mason. Oxford United have been awful defensively this season, shipping 20 goals, including three against Stoke City during the week.

Therefore, if the Baggies are unable to get past a side with such a weak backline, there is simply no hope for the former Tottenham man.
West Brom’s head-to-head record against Oxford United
Traditionally, West Brom have had little trouble getting back the U’s.
In their few meetings against Oxford United, the Baggies have almost always overcome their opponents, and are currently on a four-match unbeaten streak.

| Losses | 5 |
In fact, the U’s last win came back in 1998, showing the traditional gulf in class between the two sides.
Now, Mason will be hoping that this streak continues on Saturday, or he may soon find himself without a job.
