Aune Heggebo blows away former Wolves player after what he did in West Brom win

Matt Murray was heavily impressed with Aune Heggebo as he netted the winner for West Brom in their 2-1 victory over Oxford United.

Heggebo has come under criticism at West Brom in recent weeks for his lack of goals up top.

The striker has struggled to find the net consistently, netting only once before Saturday’s match.

As a result, Heggebo started on the bench against Oxford United at The Hawthorns, but managed to make an instant impact, firing a wonderful header into the back of the net for the win.

Matt Murray: Jamie Cumming can’t do anything about Aune Heggebo’s header

Throughout the match, it looked like a familiar story for The Hawthorns faithful as they struggled to find the net.

It took an own goal from Greg Leigh to pull the hosts back to level terms, with Josh Maja having a poor game up top for West Brom.

However, Heggebo would come onto the pitch to change the outcome of the game.

A quality cross was met by the powerful head of Heggebo, with Oxford United’s Jamie Cumming unable to stop the strike.

Watching the game on Sky Sports News on 8 November, Murray was blown away by the striker.

He said: “It’s a really good header. So many times West Brom have got into good areas but lacked the final ball.

“This time, the ball’s whipped across, Heggebo gets across his marker and Cumming can’t do anything about it.”
