Andy Johnson in stitches at what Aune Heggebo did in post-match interview

Aune Heggebo walked out of a post-match interview with Andy Johnson at West Brom.

West Brom secured a much-needed win against Oxford United on Saturday to end a run of terrible form at The Hawthorns.

Ryan Mason has been at risk of the sack, but a narrow victory over the U’s has eased the pressure somewhat on the Englishman.

A Gregory Leigh own goal started the scoring before Heggebo scored for West Brom against Oxford to secure victory in B71.

Heggebo then featured in a post-match interview with Andy Johnson and finished it off by leaving the former midfielder in hysterics.

Aune Heggebo leaves West Brom interview early in hilarious gaffe

Heggebo had a difficult day against Charlton Athletic in a showcase that somewhat mirrored his performance level so far in the Black Country.

For the fee paid over the summer, he hasn’t quite lived up to expectations, but has continued to put the work in for the Baggies.

That did change against Oxford, with his usual energy being paired up with excellent forward play and a terrific header to secure three points.

Having netted the winner, it was no surprise that the Norway international was selected for a post-match interview with WBA Radio duo Johnson and Gez Mulholland.

As the latter wrapped up the show, a confused-looking Heggebo started to walk away, carrying his mic as he did so.

Johnson was left in stitches as the show continued to show the striker also laughing at the awkward situation as he stuck around to share a laugh with the Albion favourite.

Heggebo must build on goal vs Oxford United

There is already plenty of love for the man signed from Brann over the summer, based on his infectious energy up top.

His goalscoring needs to start flowing in the Championship, having netted 47 over the years with the Norwegian outfit.

Coming off the bench against Oxford gave him an ideal position to make a difference against increasingly tired legs, and he took it with aplomb.

Mason’s job is on the line, and it is likely that Heggebo is bound to have a telling say on whether the ex-Tottenham man sticks around at The Hawthorns.
