BBC reporter shares Ryan Mason sack verdict at West Brom with ‘dramatic turn of events’ theory

Steve Hermon has shared insight into whether West Brom plan to sack Ryan Mason.

Some sections of the West Brom fanbase have called for Mason to be sacked following a run of just two wins in 10 matches.

However, the ex-Tottenham coach bounced back against the U’s, as Aune Heggebo secured a vital three points for West Brom.

The Hawthorns hierarchy‘s position on Mason has been revealed, and supporters who want the manager out will be left disappointed.

Ryan Mason set for West Brom stay

It seems as though West Brom figures are not listening to speculation linking Mason with the sack, despite the poor run of results.

BBC WM reporter Hermon claimed on 8 November that the club will be patient with the 34-year-old, who is in his first managerial post.

Taking to X, he said: “Ryan Mason won’t have won over fans who’ve been calling for him to go just yet but unless there’s a dramatic turn of events he’s not going anywhere, so I’d get behind him.

“I mentioned when he was appointed that patience was needed. He’s getting it from within the club.”

West Brom fans need to get behind Mason

Hermon is usually reliable when it comes to any matters relating to the Baggies, so it is unlikely that Mason is going anywhere in the near future.

Now, supporters need to get behind the manager and the team and work together to get their season back on track.

The Championship is such a close division that just a few games can turn things around, so it may only be a matter of time before Albion are challenging for the playoffs again.

Mason still has things to learn, with it being his first experience of being in charge of a club, but the fans need to be forgiving.

Shilen Patel and Co. took a risk on the young coach, and they will definitely not see the results, if they get rid of him so early in his tenure.

He needs to be given a real chance to turn the club around, not just one transfer window, where the club were still dealing with the Profit and Sustainability regulations that have dogged them for years.

If he has time, brings in his own players, and it still does not work, then by all means sack him, but right now he deserves the patience that he looks set to be given.
