Carlos Corberan now favourite for Championship job amid Valencia exit rumours
Carlos Corberan is now the favourite for the Middlesbrough job amid rumours he could leave Valencia less than 12 months after joining the Spanish side.
The manager has had a tough few months in La Liga and is without a win in his last seven matches.
This is despite Corberan having a successful start after leaving West Brom in December, guiding Valencia to a 12th-place finish last season.
However, with Corberan now under heavy pressure at Valencia, the manager is beginning to be linked to numerous Championship jobs, including the impending vacancy at Valencia.

Carlos Corberan bookies’ favourite to take over at Middlesbrough
Going into the international break, it appears that Middlesbrough are in need of a new manager.
Despite being second in the Championship table, Rob Edwards looks set to depart Boro for Wolves, who are currently rock bottom of the Premier League.
On 8 November, Middlesbrough agreed terms with the Old Gold club ahead of the move, subject to completion of the relevant paperwork. The move is expected to become official this week.

As a result, names are starting to be linked to Middlesbrough, with Tony Mowbray formerly the favourite to take over.
Now, according to BetVictor on 10 November, Corberan is now the favourite to take the job at 2/1.
Gary O’Neil follows the former Baggies manager at 3/1 alongside Mowbray, who is also at 3/1.
How has Corberan performed at Valencia this season?
So far this campaign, Valencia have been poor.
They sit just above the relegation zone on goal difference, and have only picked up two wins in 12 matches.
- Corberan was the West Brom manager between 2022-24
- Here, he kept the Baggies in the running for promotion throughout his time at The Hawthorns
- Corberan decided to leave West Brom in December 2024 for Valencia
Heavy defeats have also been inflicted on the Mediterranean side, including 6-0 and 4-0 losses to Barcelona and Real Madrid.
It remains to be seen if Corberan can keep hold of his job regardless of whether he makes the move back to the Championship in the coming weeks.
