Josh Maja among six players West Brom fans want to see depart in brutal admission

West Brom fans have called on the Baggies and Ryan Mason not to hand out new deals to any of the six players who are currently out of contract in the summer.

With West Brom currently set for another mediocre season, things may need to change rapidly if the Baggies are to return to the Premier League.

Mason’s future is already uncertain at The Hawthorns, with their win over Oxford United on the weekend cooling demands for him to be sacked.

However, the fans are not just unhappy with the manager and are more than willing to see the back of several players in the summer, including Josh Maja.

West Brom fans do not want to see Josh Maja’s contract renewed

Maja has had a difficult return to the pitch since his injury at West Brom.

The Baggies striker has only found the net once this season, which has contributed to the Black Country club’s poor return up top.

As a result, with his contract expiring in the summer, many fans have taken to X to argue that the attacker should not be given a new deal.

On top of this, fans also called for the release of Daryl Dike, Karlan Grant, Jed Wallace, Joe Wildsmith and Ousmane Diakite.

However, others would be willing to see Maja or Diakite given at least another season, with West Brom also holding a one-year extension option for the latter star.

How bad has Maja been this season?

While it must be remembered that Maja has only just come back from an injury at West Brom, the striker has been extremely poor this season.

According to Fotmob on 13 November, the attackers’ stats up top are horrendous, with Maja only managing 1.83 shots per 90 minutes.

Therefore, a stark improvement will be needed if he is to convince Mason that he deserves a new deal.

If not, he will surely be released in the summer, or could even be sold in the upcoming January transfer window.
