Josh Maja exit could be announced in weeks as West Brom face clear transfer priority
Josh Maja and West Brom could be set to part ways in January.
Given West Brom’s struggles under Ryan Mason so far this season, it’s evident that there needs to be some serious ambitions shown in the January transfer window.
Albion have scored fewer than 17 of the 23 Championship sides this campaign, with their attacking woes by far their biggest concern.
Maja hasn’t been able to help that much with just one goal, but his exit would leave a hole that would need to be addressed.

West Brom could lose Josh Maja for free
With the January transfer window just seven weeks away, plans will already be in place at The Hawthorns to get the Baggies prepared for the necessary business.
Many assume this only concerns incomings, though securing the future of those currently at the club is often just as important.
As things stand, Maja is set to leave West Brom on a free transfer at the end of the season, with his contract expiring.
However, that timing also allows him to negotiate a free transfer abroad in January, with the view of moving there in the summer.
Given his goal-scoring record in the Championship last season, West Brom will not want to lose him, especially for nothing.

Five other West Brom players face uncertain future
Alongside Maja, Karlan Grant, Daryl Dike, Jed Wallace, Ousmane Diakite and Joe Wildsmith all find themselves out of contract at the end of the season.
Albion have the option to extend Diakite‘s deal by an extra year, while the others will have to negotiate new terms if they are to remain.
If not, it would see three strikers depart The Hawthorns in the summer at the very latest, leaving Aune Heggebo as the only remaining number nine.
Signing a striker was already going to be important this January, and if those three are to leave, it will only amplify that need.
