West Brom fans’ message sent loud and clear as announcement relayed ahead of Coventry City clash
West Brom supporters have made their thoughts loud and clear regarding the extortionate prices for next weekend’s clash with Coventry City.
Coventry are charging West Brom fans up to £45 a ticket for Saturday’s Championship clash at the CBS Arena.
Dawne Astle is among those to have hit out at Coventry for the disgraceful prices, with even Under-18s tickets coming in at £35.
Albion fans are simply not having it, and tickets for the away section are yet to sell out with just five days to go ahead of the 28-mile trip.
West Brom re-advertise tickets for Coventry away
Tickets for the short-distance away day should take no time at all to sell out, but fans are not willing to be – let’s face it – completely ripped off, especially with Christmas around the corner.
West Brom posted an announcement via the club website on Monday advertising that tickets are still for sale.
It is not known how many of the 2,815 tickets are still available, but the fact any are going at all says it all.
Coventry fans can try to justify the ticket prices all they want, but deep down they also surely understand that £115 for an adult and two youngsters to go along, say, is frankly ridiculous.
Well done to the West Brom fans who were eager to go along to this game but have decided otherwise. That money will be better spent elsewhere.
West Brom’s recent record vs Coventry City
Coventry are the strong favourites to beat West Brom this weekend, according to Opta’s supercomputer.
The Baggies were beaten 2-0 at the CBS Arena on their most recent visit there in April this year.
Jack Rudoni scored early on and Matt Grimes then added a second early in the second half, with Callum Styles’ red card leaving Albion with a task too big to overcome.

That ended a run of four wins in a row in this fixture home and away, with three of those also ending with a clean sheet.
In fact, Coventry have only beaten West Brom in two of the past eight encounters, and four of the past 17.
Those in attendance on Saturday would love nothing more than to see another Albion win, but many more will instead be watching on from afar – rightly so.
