West Brom eye January deal for £8m midfielder who Steven Gerrard regularly raved about
Glen Kamara has been linked with a potential move to West Brom in the January transfer window.
West Brom have struggled under Ryan Mason this season as they currently sit 14th in the Championship table and four points adrift of the playoff places.
Additions are desperately needed in the January transfer window as Mason is still waiting to win the fans over in B71.
Former Leeds midfielder Kamara has struggled to get game time since moving to Rennes, and he now finds himself uncertain of what his future holds.
Kamara has a wealth of experience across Europe and has attained high amounts of praise from Steven Gerrard during their time together at Rangers.

Glen Kamara would be a huge asset for West Brom
Having grown through the Arsenal academy, Kamara has gone on to make 410 senior appearances for club and country.
According to Jeunesfooteux, West Brom are seriously interested in the Finland international, who cost Rennes £8million in July 2024.
West Brom had already expressed interest in Kamara last summer alongside Leicester and Ipswich, and they’re considering making another attempt during the January transfer window.

After a win over Kilmarnock in 2019, Gerrard raved about Kamara’s maturity on the pitch for Rangers at the time.
He said: “I obviously knew the player, and what you saw against Kilmarnock is why we wanted to bring him in this summer. Thankfully, we’ve been able to bring him in early.
“It was nice to see midfielders taking the ball off the guys at the back and making us tick. Kamara connected the game really well.”
In 2020, Gerrard said: “The previous coaches that have worked with Kamara at Arsenal and when he’s moved on have done a fantastic job, he’s been schooled right. I think he fits into our system like a glove.”

With Championship rivals ready to swoop in for Kamara’s services, the Baggies must act fast to get the deal over the line for a player who could make a huge impact on their season.

Why West Brom need a midfielder like Glen Kamara
Alex Mowatt has impressed for West Brom, but it’s clear that depth is needed if the Baggies want to make a surge for the top six.
Jayson Molumby has been heavily criticised for his performances with the Republic of Ireland, and there is a clear lack of creativity in the team.
While Isaac Price has been phenomenal, the Baggies need more versatility and ingenuity in the centre of the park.
Kamara has that in abundance, and a player with experience on many different scales could propel them to go on a winning run and instil a tough mentality for the rest of the campaign.
