What Daniel Farke said about Glen Kamara as West Brom line up ex-Leeds star
West Brom are eyeing a deal for former Leeds star Glen Kamara, with Daniel Farke once labelling the midfielder as “priceless”.
With the January transfer window closing in, the Baggies are now being linked with numerous players.
Reinforcements are needed if West Brom are to get their promotion ambitions back on track after a tricky start.
One player who is linked to The Hawthorns is Glen Kamara, who is currently at Rennes, with the midfielder previously finding success at Elland Road.
Daniel Farke: Glen Kamara is priceless
Before moving to Rennes, Kamara was a regular for Leeds, playing for the Peacocks between 2023-24 after his move from Rangers.
However, after failing to win promotion at the West Yorkshire club, he opted to move to Rennes.
This has been far from successful for the Finnish international, with the 30-year-old struggling for minutes, and even being loaned out to Al Shabab in the latter half of last season.

- After a successful spell at Dundee, he joined Rangers in 2019, staying until 2023
- A short spell at Leeds United followed, with Kamara now at Rennes
As a result, West Brom have renewed their interest in Kamara, after previously being linked to the midfielder in the summer.
After previously finding success in the Championship, he could be a fantastic signing for Ryan Mason, especially given Farke’s previous comments on the midfielder.
Talking back on 7 December 2023, the Leeds manager stated how important Kamara was to Leeds in their battle for promotion.
He said: “Never a perfect game for teams or players. For Glen, there is more to come and more consistency. When I judge his last five or six games, I would say he is on a top level. Decision-making on the ball. Experience and class to find a good balance.
“His calmness on the ball, he is priceless. Like how competitive he is against the ball. Won many duels. Aggressive in pressing and recovering the balls. Quite crucial for our game. Pleased with him and he can go further in his way.”
How good was Kamara at Leeds?
According to Fotmob on 19 November, Kamara was excellent in the Championship while at Leeds.
His passing ability was particularly impressive, averaging an accuracy of 92.9 per cent, while also creating 1.3 chances per match.
