What Alex Neil has already said about being new West Brom manager after Ryan Mason sack news
Ryan Mason has managed to fend off the calls for him to be sacked for at least another week as West Brom came from behind the beat Swansea 3-2 at The Hawthorns on Saturday.
Mason has been under increasing pressure at West Brom after seeing his side nosedive down the Championship table.
Former Baggies captain Kyle Bartley has recently claimed Mason doesn’t trust his squad in a bid to explain the rookie manager’s poor in-game decision-making.
However, an unprecedented quadruple substitution while 2-0 down against Swansea at half-time ended up being a managerial masterclass as Aune Heggebo scored twice before Jayson Molumby netted a winner for the Albion.

Millwall manager Alex Neil linked with West Brom job
Alan Nixon reported on 9 November that West Brom are looking at hiring Millwall manager Alex Neil if they have to dismiss Mason.
It was claimed that Albion are “ready to turn” to the 44-year-old Scot if results don’t improve. However, Nixon added that due to his new contract at Millwall, it would take a pricey compensation fee to release him from the London club.
Neil addressed the rumours linking him to West Brom earlier this month.
He claimed he had no idea that the Albion were looking at him. But with Mason‘s side struggling more than ever, there’s every chance he’s fully aware now.
“I certainly haven’t seen that, no,” said Neil on 10 November, when responding to the speculation linking him with the Baggies.

“It’s not even on my radar. I don’t even know anything about it. It’s the first time I’ve heard about it. You’ve caught me off guard with that one. Nonsense.”
Has Ryan Mason just delayed the inevitable?
Not many goals had been scored at The Hawthorns before Swansea’s visit to the Black Country on Saturday.
West Brom and their opponents had only scored 14 times, with Albion netting just eight of them.
But that’s now increased to 19 thanks to the five-goal thriller this weekend.
It’s a superb win, and Mason will be chuffed with himself for making that quadruple substitution at half-time, which seemed to be the catalyst for the comeback.
Results and performances have, overall, been poor, though, and there’ll definitely be a feeling among the West Brom fanbase that this win has delayed the inevitable.
We’ll see how things progress over the festive period.
