Claudio Yacob reacts to stunning West Brom comeback vs Swansea, shares picture of wild celebrations

Claudio Yacob has shown he still holds West Brom in his heart with a message of support following the Baggies’ dramatic comeback against Swansea on Saturday.

West Brom beat Swansea 3-2 despite being 2-0 down after just 11 minutes, with the result helping the Black Country club halt their slide down the Championship table.

Aune Heggebo’s brace got Albion on level terms in the second half, before Jayson Molumby scored the winning goal, making amends for his early dismissal against Coventry the previous weekend.

Yacob returned to The Hawthorns in the summer for a legends match, and his reaction to West Brom‘s game tells supporters everything they need to know about the Argentine’s affection towards the Baggies.

Claudio Yacob was watching the West Brom game from his home

Yacob played the most football of his career at West Brom, donning a blue and white shirt from 2012 until departing in 2018.

The former midfielder last played for Universitario de Deportes in 2022 and has seemingly retired from the beautiful game.

The 38-year-old shared a photo from home on his Instagram, which showed celebrations of West Brom’s late winner against Swansea.

Yacob wrote: “Well done, Baggies.”

Albion has clearly left a mark on Yacob, and he will know just how important that win was.

Ryan Mason has bought himself some time at West Brom

Ryan Mason has been under increasing pressure as the Baggies boss and was in desperate need of a result against the Swans.

At half-time, the game looked over already, despite there being another 45 minutes to play.

West Brom have struggled for goals, and scoring three in one half may have seemed impossible to some, but Mason helped push his players to get a memorable win.

The three points were crucial, but more importantly for Albion, the game showed that the players are willing to fight for Mason.

The head coach has certainly bought himself some extra time.
