‘Horrendous’ Iling-Junior image emerges from West Brom win vs Swansea: ‘Send him back’

West Brom secured a much-needed three points against Swansea City on Saturday, moving back towards the Championship play-offs.

Aune Heggebo was the hero for the Baggies, scoring two second-half goals as Ryan Mason’s side came from 2-0 down to win 3-2 at The Hawthorns.

Jayson Molumby was sent off against Coventry on 22 November, but the midfielder made amends at the weekend, popping up in the 85th minute to score the winner.

Mason remains under pressure at West Brom following an inconsistent start to the season, but Baggies supporters were more focused on Samuel Iling-Junior at full-time.

West Brom fans rage at Iling-Junior after Swansea win

Iling-Junior has struggled at West Brom so far this season, after arriving on loan from Aston Villa over the summer.

The 22-year-old was underwhelming once again against Swansea, taken off at halftime as Mason rang the changes, in a bid to turn around the 2-0 deficit.

West Brom were a completely different side after the break, with the quadruple substitution having the desired effect.

Heggebo slotted a left-footed strike through the legs of Lawrence Vigouroux to get a goal back for the Baggies before slamming into the roof of the net just five minutes later to level the scores.

Molumby won it for Mason’s side with five minutes left on the clock, but a photo later emerged of Iling-Junior unmoved on the West Brom bench during the celebrations.

The winger was pictured still sitting down as his teammates mobbed Molumby, with Baggies fans unimpressed by the reaction.

West Brom fans want Iling-Junior out

Iling-Junior was far from a fan favourite among Baggies fans anyway, but his apathy towards Molumby’s late winner has seen his stock drop even further.

One West Brom supporter labelled the 22-year-old as a “horrendous player” in reaction to the photo showing his lack of celebrations.

Another Baggies fan believes that Mason should “send him back to Villa”, clearly annoyed with the winger’s apparent lack of interest at the Hawthorns.

West Brom may be forced into a January decision regarding Iling-Junior, as the calls for his loan to be terminated increase.

While there is no specific recall clause in the Englishman’s contract, if Mason’s side can reach a mutual agreement with Aston Villa, then he can return to Villa Park in the new year.
