West Brom board’s stance on sacking Ryan Mason revealed
West Brom are set to continue to back Ryan Mason despite the Baggies’ inconsistent form.
Mason has been under heavy pressure at The Hawthorns in recent weeks after the Black Country club drifted away from the playoffs.
At half-time on Saturday, it looked as if the manager could be heading for an early exit as his side found themselves 2-0 down before West Brom pulled off a stunning comeback to beat Swansea 3-2.
However, it appears that even if the Baggies fell to a defeat on the weekend, Mason would have still remained in the dugout for the foreseeable future.

Shilen Patel remains supportive of Ryan Mason
While the Baggies’ hopes of promotion may now look slim, Mason has remained in the dugout.
Getting back into the Premier League is no doubt the goal at The Hawthorns. However, even with their 3-2 win over Swansea, West Brom remain four points off sixth.
- Mason was brought in as West Brom manager in the summer
- The hope was that he would oversee a promotion campaign this season
- However, despite the victory over Swansea, promotion looks unlikely
Now, with tricky ties against QPR and Southampton on the horizon, many might feel that Mason is still under pressure.
However, according to Chris Lepkowski on X on 30 November, the Englishman would not have been sacked, even if the Baggies had lost to Swansea.
Fair amount of discourse that Mason was fighting for his job yesterday. He really wasn’t. Players like him, board are on side with him.

It’s the terrace/social media noise that is loudest at moment (which I can’t blame tbf, given how bad some games have been).
Instead, Mason has the support of Shilen Patel and the player also like the manager.

West Brom still predicted for bottom half finish
Despite their recent comeback, Opta on 30 November does not have high hopes for the Baggies.
As it stands, the supercomputer believes they will finish 14th, with a 14.32 per cent chance of promotion through the playoffs.
If this comes to pass, it will no doubt be a frustrating season for West Brom and another missed opportunity for promotion.
A bottom-half finish would also be terrible, and it remains to be seen if Mason would survive this.
