West Brom set to look embarrassed as Samuel Iling-Junior decision to be made in January
West Brom need to hold internal crunch talks over Samuel Iling-Junior’s loan deal.
Iling-Junior has failed to hit the ground running since arriving at The Hawthorns in the summer, with one goal against Leicester his only highlight.
Aston Villa decided to loan the versatile forward out to West Brom, with the Albion hopeful that he could kick on after his stint in the Championship at Middlesbrough last season.
West Brom are hopeful of promotion under Ryan Mason, and all signs are currently pointing towards Iling-Junior‘s loan being cut short in January to make way for new additions.

West Brom need to cut Samuel Iling-Junior’s loan deal short
West Brom beat Swansea 3-2 on Saturday as Iling-Junior was hooked at half-time.
The Baggies went into the break two goals down before Mason’s substitutes helped flip the game on its head, in a crucial win that has inspired promotion hopes once more.
The win was no thanks to Iling-Junior, however, and his statistics from the game justify Mason‘s call to brutally replace the winger at the break.

A decision on whether the Baggies will keep Iling-Junior beyond January should be expected soon, with talks over ending his loan early possibly already underway.

But there are obstacles in the way of West Brom from simply ending the 22-year-old’s deal.

How West Brom can end Iling-Junior loan deal
The Baggies may have thought that their West Midlands rivals, Villa, were helping them out when allowing Iling-Junior to join the Black Country Club.
That’s not been the case, and the winger has only shown one moment of promise so far when he scored a great solo goal against Leicester in September.
There is no believed recall clause in Iling-Junior’s loan deal with West Brom. This means that an agreement between himself, West Brom and Aston Villa would need to be reached for him to leave The Hawthorns.
According to Mills and Reeve, a mutual agreement to terminate a loan deal typically must be processed through the official registration system and may also need to conform to league/FA regulations.
West Brom could lose money if they were to cut the deal short, as many loan agreements sometimes include early termination clauses with financial penalties.
