Ryan Mason 90 minutes from unwanted West Brom nadir not seen since Steve Bruce days
Ryan Mason could match a Steve Bruce record when West Brom face Queens Park Rangers on Saturday.
Bruce’s time at West Brom was one to forget for everyone, and Mason risks heading the same way if he cannot turn the situation around.
The veteran manager replaced Valerian Ismael in The Hawthorns dugout, and left after eight months with the Baggies sitting 22nd in the Championship.
Mason was an ambitious hire from Shilen Patel and Co., but he could end up going the way of Bruce if results do not improve soon.

West Brom could equal an unwanted record against Queens Park Rangers
West Brom beat Swansea at home last time out, but they have struggled on the road lately, as they prepare to travel to face QPR.
Albion have lost their last five away matches, and one more would equal an unwanted nadir that was set in the Bruce era.

The Baggies have not lost six consecutive away games since between December and February in the 2021-22 campaign, with Bruce overseeing the final three of those matches.
Ryan Mason can still turn it around at West Brom
Mason could still turn things around in the Black Country, if he is given the time to do so.
He is a young, inexperienced manager, and is still learning as he goes along, but that could be an advantage for Albion.
He brings new tactical ideas, and a fresh approach, and can fine-tune his style of play as the season goes along.
The West Midlands outfit are only four points off the final playoff place, which is currently held by Bristol City, and there are still plenty of twists and turns to come in the second tier.
The Throstles have to be patient with Mason, and give him time to implement his ideas and build on the talented squad that is already in place in the transfer market.
If they don’t and they dismiss him after the first hurdle, they will be back to square one, and the cycle of misery in B71, will simply repeat, and supporters will remain unhappy.
