Supercomputer predicts outcome of QPR vs West Brom clash in Championship
West Brom will be looking to make it back-to-back victories for Ryan Mason when they make the trip to Queens Park Rangers this weekend.
Mason is a man under pressure at The Hawthorns, albeit some of the weight has been lifted off his shoulders thanks to West Brom’s 3-2 win over Swansea City last week.
Former Tottenham coach Mason may have stumbled on a winning formula for West Brom, but defeat at Loftus Road on Saturday will set the Baggies back.
And with Mason still one of the favourites to be sacked, a positive performance and result is imperative in West London.
QPR considered favourites to beat West Brom
The two sides enter this contest sitting level on 25 points each after 18 matches, but Albion have a slightly better goal difference.
| Position | Team | Points | GD |
| 12 | West Brom | 25 | -2 |
| 13 | QPR | 25 | -6 |
QPR were beaten 3-1 by Norwich City last time out, but that came on the back of successive victories over Blackburn Rovers and Hull City.
Ultimately, there is nothing to separate the sides in terms of points, but Opta‘s supercomputer does make QPR slight favourites for this weekend.
Julien Stephan’s side are given a 42.5 per cent likelihood of winning this contest, compared to 30.8 per cent for Albion. The draw is given a 26.7 per cent chance of happening.
West Brom have superb record vs QPR
While the supercomputer makes West Brom slight underdogs, recent history suggests otherwise in terms of results between these two sides.
West Brom have lost just one of their past 12 against QPR, which was a 1-0 defeat at Loftus Road in January 2022.

Albion have won eight and drawn the other three – a record Mason will be eager to build on in the capital this week.
Both sides will be looking up at the playoff spots rather than behind them at the bottom three, with three points this weekend for either side making all the difference.
Defeat, on the other hand, and Mason’s job will no doubt be called in question once again.
