Krystian Bielik perfectly sums up West Brom teammate in one word, he could save Ryan Mason

Aune Heggebo is the man who could save Ryan Mason’s job at West Brom.

Mason is under pressure at West Brom after a run of just three wins in 10 Championship matches, which is not the kind of form that will see Albion in the promotion picture.

However, Heggebo has stepped up recently, with five goals in his last four league matches, suggesting that he has finally adapted to life at The Hawthorns.

Krystian Bielik has acknowledged the impact of the Norwegian for the Baggies in a perfect one-word response.

What did Krystian Bielik say about Aune Heggebo?

Bielik described the forward as “ruthless”, which is exactly what Mason needs him to be if he is to keep his space in the dugout.

The defender was speaking to the club’s official website and insists that he is not surprised by the impressive form shown by the 24-year-old.

He said: “Aune is a ruthless striker, he’s one of the strongest strikers I’ve ever had to face in training before.

“I can see the quality that he has, and the whole group can see what he can do. We all know what he can achieve.

“He’s so strong, he’s so good in the aerial duels, and even when you don’t give him the best ball, he can handle it. He’s capable of setting it down for others or holding it up – it’s clear he’s a great target for us to aim for.

“He’s scored five goals in his last four games, so you can see where he is with his form. We need him in every single game and I hope he keeps scoring for us.”

How soon could Mason be sacked by West Brom?

It is important to remember that Mason is in his first senior managerial job, and he is still learning about what that entails.

He should be given time to implement his ideas, as his front-footed style of play is definitely an exciting strategy.

However, Shilen Patel and Co. are looking for a route back to the Premier League, to take Albion back to where they belong, and out of the second tier.

If the ex-Tottenham coach cannot at least show some signs of progress towards that ambition, then surely his reign in the Black Country will come to an end sooner rather than later.

The Baggies are currently just four points away from the final play-off place, and there is a lot of time to make that up.

Therefore, it is unlikely that Mason will be handed his marching orders anytime soon, but if that gap becomes too much, he may well be on his way.
