Ben Foster tips West Brom star for Ballon D’Or as he’s spotted at Darts World Championship

West Brom legend Ben Foster has high hopes for one current star at The Hawthorns.

Foster has spoken regularly about West Brom ever since calling a day on his playing career after a spell with Wrexham in the National League and League Two.

There is no doubting the keeper’s status in B71 as Foster continues to maintain relationships at West Brom, even seven years after his departure.

Foster has watched West Brom since leaving, and it is clear that he maintains a soft spot for the Baggies off the back of his 223 appearances in the Black Country.

The 42-year-old clearly knows the ins and outs of Albion right now, with Foster showing his love for one star in particular at the Darts World Championship.

Ben Foster calls for Aune Heggebo to win Ballon d’Or

Aune Heggebo is quickly becoming a West Brom favourite after such a rich vein of goalscoring form in the Midlands.

Ryan Mason has begun to get the best out of the Norway international after his summer move from Brann.

Heggebo seriously struggled in the opening stages of his career at The Hawthorns, but he has managed to turn things around with seven goals in his last seven games.

That form hasn’t helped to transform results for the Baggies, but it is raising eyebrows as to just how good the 24-year-old can be.

Foster clearly loves what he’s seen from the striker as he used his sign at the Dart World Championships to call for global recognition for Heggebo.

He wrote: “Heggebo, Ballon d’Or. WBAFC.”

Heggebo rightly picking up high praise at West Brom

There has been very little to shout about in B71 so far this season with so many frustrating results under Mason’s management.

The ex-Spurs coach is coming under increasing scrutiny, but the result against Sheffield United looks likely to afford him more time.

He arguably has Heggebo to thank as the summer signing continues to find the net and make his chances count for the Baggies.

The Ballon d’Or may be a step too far, but Foster is certainly right to showcase his love for the forward on the biggest of stages.
