Alex Mowatt returns as Ryan Mason takes away-day gamble – West Brom predicted XI vs Hull City

Ryan Mason will be desperate to build on West Brom’s latest win as they travel to Hull City in the Championship on Saturday.

West Brom’s 2-0 win over Sheffield United on Friday leaves them 16th in the Championship, and the victory gives them a platform to build on that convincing performance.

Mason remains under intense pressure, but a win over sixth-placed Hull would certainly ease the anger among fans who have had enough of the manager.

The Baggies have lost seven consecutive away games, and if that record doesn’t end on 20 December, then the 34-year-old will be right back in the firing line.

Mason has had injury issues to contend with, although Alex Mowatt should be fit enough to return to the starting line-up against Hull.

Alex Mowatt to come in for Ousmane Diakite vs Hull City

Mowatt signed a contract extension in the summer, with fans ecstatic that the 30-year-old would be extending his stay in B71.

Mowatt has been impressive for West Brom, and his goal against Birmingham on 26 November showcased his versatility at both ends of the pitch.

However, after sustaining a foot injury in the defeat to Southampton, he missed the Sheffield United match, with Ousmane Diakite taking his place.

Mowatt’s presence at the heart of midfield is vital for West Brom, and he will likely resume his role in the team alongside Jayson Molumby in what would be Mason’s only change.

West Brom predicted XI vs Hull City

As for the rest of the team, it makes sense for Mason to leave it unchanged, with Aune Heggebo set to carry on his excellent form.

Krystian Bielik and Nat Phillips should start at the heart of defence, with Callum Styles and George Campbell playing either side of them.

Isaac Price’s poor run of form could be over after Sheffield United performance

Price has earned widespread praise at West Brom, but the Baggies’ recent drop-off in form has seen some fans begin to question the midfielder.

However, the Northern Ireland international’s form had dipped, and Mason dropped him for two matches.

Against Sheffield United, Price had four shots and created two chances, and he looked full of confidence in behind Heggebo.

Price can be a real game-changer for the Baggies, and he is someone who can produce a moment of magic out of nowhere.

Therefore, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him on the scoresheet against Hull.
