Sky Sports pundit blasts West Brom’s Isaac Price for head-in-hands moment vs Hull City
Isaac Price has been blasted over a first-half moment that cost West Brom points in their 1-0 loss at Hull City.
West Brom faced Hull City on Saturday at the MKM Stadium in another important Championship clash where the Baggies left with nothing.
Oli McBurnie scored a penalty on the stroke of half-time for Hull after Nat Phillips was penalised for a handball inside Albion’s box.
West Brom have slipped further down the table following the loss and remain on a disappointing points tally of 28 from 22 matches.
Ryan Mason has had his critics at West Brom this season, but there was nothing he could do about Price’s shocking moment.

Isaac Price slammed for missing ‘sitter’
Price’s form has dropped off recently for West Brom, and that showed, as any player with confidence would have most likely hit the back of the net.
Karlan Grant couldn’t have put in a better ball for the attacker, and Price himself will know that he simply had to do better.
- According to Sofascore, Price’s shot had an xG of 0.62
- He is now without a goal contribution in seven games for West Brom
While speaking live on Sky Sports, pundit Pete Graves was left stunned by the missed effort and detailed how easy it was for the Baggies forward to score.
Graves said: “It’s still 0-0 here but it should be 1-0 to Ryan Mason’s team.
“The ball is whipped in from the left-hand side – it was a sitter. Isaac Price simply had to score, but somehow he’s knocked it over the crossbar.”

Given the 22-year-old’s current form, Mason has a big decision to make over the winter period.

Ryan Mason needs to drop Price now
Games are coming thick and fast now, which means that rotation is going to be required if Albion are to pick up points.
Price is in terrible form for the Baggies and could do with a spell on the sidelines.
If Mason were to bench Price, the clear replacement for the Northern Irishman would surely be Josh Maja.
The West Brom boss has had success by using Maja off the bench as a second striker, and the Nigerian could be the answer in place of Price’s form.
Every player has a bad patch, and Price will come back, but for now, he needs to be given a break.
