Supercomputer predicts result of West Brom vs Bristol City in Championship Boxing Day clash
West Brom will be aiming to hand fans a late Christmas gift as Bristol City come to town.
Hull City dealt West Brom another defeat with a 1-0 win last time out, leaving Ryan Mason’s men 16th in the Championship for Christmas.
As such, pressure is continuing to grow on Mason at The Hawthorns, as he desperately looks to turn the tide ASAP despite West Brom’s issues with staying consistent.
West Brom are predicted to finish in the bottom half this season, but a couple of wins over the Christmas and New Year period could change that.

West Brom are favourites to beat Bristol City
Up next is a challenging clash with Bristol City, as the Robins travel to The Hawthorns for a Boxing Day clash fresh off the back of a 2-0 win over Middlesbrough.
With just one win from their last four Championship games, confidence of a positive result among the West Brom support is understandably low.
However, Opta’s supercomputer has actually named the Baggies as favourites to take all three points, giving them a 41.9 per cent chance of victory compared to that of 31.5 per cent for Bristol City.
West Brom’s recent head-to-head record vs Bristol City
When attempting to find the winner of a tight matchup on paper, looking back through the history books can be a good place to start.
In front of what will be a bumper Boxing Day crowd, it’s crucial that West Brom send their fans home happy with a much-needed win.
Thankfully, recent history is on their side in that regard, with Albion winning two of the last three Championship meetings with Bristol City.
- West Brom have won 19 of their 28 Championship points at home this season
- Albion have only conceded eight goals at The Hawthorns this term
- Bristol City have been inconsistent on the road, winning four, drawing three and losing three
However, the Robins do have the most recent bragging rights, having ran out 2-1 winners back in April.
It’s traditionally been a high-scoring affair when these two sides meet, too, with eight of the last 13 meetings featuring three or more goals.
