Steve Hermon shares West Brom points deduction shocker all fans must take heed of
West Brom so nearly faced a points deduction earlier this season.
Ryan Mason has struggled at West Brom this season and has left the Baggies in 16th place as the festive period approaches.
Outside of West Brom’s win against Sheffield United at The Hawthorns, there has been little positivity to speak of in recent weeks.
That is largely down to the transfer business conducted in the summer, with Aune Heggebo’s move to West Brom being one of the only true success stories so far.
Frustration surrounding B71 has been rife, but an insight from Steve Hermon could have supporters eating their own words.

West Brom summer sales were forced by financial restrictions
There were a number of high-profile exits from the Black Country in the most recent transfer window, which massively changed the look of the squad.
Tom Fellows’ move from West Brom to Southampton was arguably the most significant departure, given his four goals and 14 assists last campaign.

The winger was moved on alongside the likes of Torbjorn Heggem, Darnell Furlong and Caleb Taylor, something which left The Hawthorns faithful largely annoyed.
That frustration has continued throughout the season, with the likes of Shilen Patel coming under fire for the business conducted.
Hermon has now revealed on BBC Radio WM that the Baggies has to make these sales or risk a points deduction.
Daz Hale questioned the journalist, asking: “Steve, if Heggem, Fellows, Furlong, Caleb Taylor hadn’t have gone, would Albion have faced a points deduction?“

Hermon replied: “Very simply, yes. They were that close to the line, they needed to make sales last summer to avoid a points deduction.
“It is worth remembering that Shilen Patel has been pumping money into clear the debt and keep them going, really.“
West Brom put out massive fires in the summer
The current position may not be great in the Championship, but the squad arguably should be sitting much higher in the standings.
That has to be credited towards the Hawthorns hierarchy, who managed to bring in useful signings on cheap deals to replace the quality that had departed.

Supporters may be fuming with the sales and what has gone on this campaign, but it certainly appears to be a best-case scenario after a turbulent summer.
Heggem and Fellows, in particular, were always going to be near impossible to replace, but their exits are surely better than a points deduction.
