Karlan Grant only positive, 3/10 could get Ryan Mason sacked – West Brom player ratings vs Bristol City
West Brom suffered a 2-1 defeat against Bristol City on Saturday.
Off the back of West Brom’s 1-0 defeat to Hull, the Baggies returned to The Hawthorns ahead of the new year to take on Bristol City.
Ending the year on a high was always the aim, but after just 21 minutes, Albion found themselves 2-0 down courtesy of Anis Mehmeti and Ross McCrorie.
From the second half onwards, the Baggies improved slightly, but nowhere near enough to change the course of the game, with Ousmane Diakite’s goal proving to be nothing other than a consolation.
Ironically, on Boxing Day, West Brom failed to throw any punches, and that could prove to be the end of Ryan Mason at Albion.

Karlan Grant comes out with credit again
Karlan Grant has generally been solid for West Brom this season, and despite the lacklustre performance from the rest of his teammates, it was the same against the Robins.
His passing was tidy, and he was always looking to get the better out of his full-back, more often than not, to some success.
Grant, as he has all season, worked his socks off for the team, and had everyone played with the same level of intensity, it would have been a different outcome.

It wasn’t the perfect performance from the Albion forward – far from it. However, he certainly emerged from the clash with more credit than criticism.

Isaac Price woeful vs Bristol City
When Albion need a moment of quality, they tend to look towards Isaac Price, but he provided nothing of the sort on Boxing Day.
His only real involvement in the game was when he saw a tame effort saved, despite Mikey Johnston being in acres of space to finish into an empty own goal.
If Price isnt playing well, that tends to go through the team, and that was the case against Bristol City.
Mason needed to win this game to have any hopes of keeping his job, and that miss from Price could prove to be one of the defining factors in his sack.
He’s a key player at The Hawthorns, and given the quality we all know he has, that level of display is unacceptable.
