West Brom fans wanted Ryan Mason to play with 10 men after what ‘awful’ player did vs QPR
West Brom’s clash against Queens Park Rangers was a must-win for Ryan Mason, but supporters left The Hawthorns disappointed with one player’s performance.
Mason was under increasing pressure to keep his job as they entertained a play-off chasing QPR side, and their night got off to a great start.
George Campbell leapt highest in the box to nod home Callum Styles’ free-kick, sparking optimism that Albion could win for just the second time in six matches.
But in true Baggies fashion, their joy was short-lived in the first half, as the visitors equalised after Jimmy Dunne’s header deflected off Omar Diakite and trickled past Joe Wildsmith.
Luckily, another piece of magic from a set-piece handed the hosts all three points after Nat Phillips powered his header past Ben Hamer.

West Brom fans were angry at Samuel Iling-Junior vs QPR
When Samuel Iling-Junior was named in West Brom’s starting lineup against QPR, many questioned Mason’s decision.
Iling-Junior has been poor since joining on loan from Aston Villa in the summer, with the 22-year-old returning just once in 18 appearances.
Sadly, after starting as a right winger on Monday night, the Englishman failed to showcase his talents, and several fans couldn’t contain their anger at his performance.
“Iling Jr. is a honking footballer,” one supporter wrote, while someone else hilariously commented: “Iling Junior stinking up the place worse than a Brussel Sprouts fart after a Christmas dinner.”

“Iling Junior doesn’t have a right foot,” a fourth said, before another exclaimed: “His left is just as bad!”
“I’m tired of watching Iling jr I’d genuinely be happier with 10 men as that what it is anyway, send him back in jan with Charlie Taylor,” someone else stated.

What were Iling-Junior’s stats vs QPR
Although West Brom capitalised on two occasions through set-pieces, Mason would have been disappointed with his side’s quality from open play, and Iling-Junior was the main suspect.
On another difficult night, the Aston Villa loanee only sent in one accurate cross into the box, completed one dribble and lost possession 11 times.
Samuel Iling-Junior’s stats vs QPR
83 minutes played
1 successful dribble
11x possession lost
1 accurate cross
1 shot
19/25 (76%) pass completion
When the Baggies travel to Swansea City on New Year’s Day, Mason may drop lling-Junior out of his starting lineup after his recent poor performances while giving him a rest.
