Every player West Brom have been linked with signing as January transfer window opens

West Brom can now start adding fresh talent to their squad as the transfer window has reopened.

Ryan Mason is desperate for new recruits as he seeks to climb the Championship table and rescue his reign at The Hawthorns.

West Brom won 2-1 against Queens’ Park Rangers to end 2025 on a high, but there is still work to be done to get the team into shape under the ex-Tottenham coach.

Mason needs fresh impetus if he is turn things around in the Black Country, and avoid a terrible end to his first managerial role.

Who has been linked with a transfer for West Brom

The most pressing area for the Baggies may well be central midfield, after Toby Collyer was recalled from his loan by parent club, Manchester United.

Dan Neil is one name that has been linked, with Alan Nixon reporting on 21 December that they are interested in the Sunderland man.

They face competition from Leicester for the 24-year-old, and the Premier League outfit’s position on an exit has not been revealed.

Glen Kamara is another midfielder who the Baggies could sign, with L’Equipe reporting in August that Albion were one of three clubs that wanted a loan deal.

Mason’s side are reportedly weighing up an approach for the ex-Rangers and Leeds United star when the market reopens.

Bailey Rice is another potential target, with the West Midlands outfit reportedly looking at a pre-contract agreement for the Gers ace.

The Scotsman is out of contract in the summer, and no fresh terms have been agreed, meaning that he would be free to sign with Albion in January, before joining for next season.

In terms of attackers, Amario Cozier-Duberry, who is currently on loan with Bolton Wanderers from Brighton, has been linked.

The Seagulls could cancel his loan with the League One side, if they fancy a bigger challenge for the 20-year-old, which could open the door for Albion.

Why transfers may be difficult for West Brom

Sporting director Andrew Nestor confirmed that West Brom are still under significant constraints in the winter transfer window.

The Baggies are still reeling from the disastrous ownership of Guochuan Lai, with Profit and Sustainability regulation hampering their plans in the market.

Nestor claimed that Albion will try to find value in the market, but acknowledged that they face strict margins when it comes to player trading.

That will not be welcome news for supporters, who want the side to be improved, so they can rise up the second-tier.
