West Brom fans not happy as clear frontrunner now emerges to replace Ryan Mason
West Brom fans are growing frustrated with the search for a Ryan Mason replacement.
Mason was sacked by West Brom after a shocking first half to the season left the Baggies sitting 18th in the Championship table.
The last straw came as West Brom lost 2-1 to Leicester City despite having plenty of chances to score a winner of their own at the King Power.
The search for a new head coach is now underway, with Michael Carrick already linked to West Brom alongside the likes of Ralph Hasenhuttl and Russell Martin.
None of this trio appears to be leading the race, although The Hawthorns are already frustrated with how the manager race is shaping up.
West Brom fans unsold on Eric Ramsay
Eric Ramsay has emerged as the favourite at West Brom after being linked to the Black Country before Mason got the job.
The Minnesota United boss is well-respected in MLS after 81 matches in charge of the black and blue outfit.
His record is largely positive, but he went five without a win to end the season in October and November, which isn’t filling the Baggies with confidence.
The general feeling in B71 is negative, with one supporter questioning, “What even is he?”, while another simply responded to the links by saying, “Absolutely not.”
That has been echoed by a number of fans, with many calling for a head coach option with more experience than the 33-year-old.
One supporter has suggested that Ramsay “isn’t for me”, with another echoing the “need someone more experienced” sentiment.
These fans alone prove what the Baggies faithful think about the potential new boss, even with the appointment potentially edging closer.
Ramsay appointment to cause fury at West Brom
There may be positive reviews coming out of MLS for the Welshman, but that doesn’t seem to be swaying Albion fans right now.
One fan has even suggested his appointment would see them give up with The Hawthorns outfit moving forward.
They said: “Pathetic. I’m officially done with the club.”
This worry seemingly stems from the failings of Mason and how his inexperience has resulted in a shocking season to this point.
A supporter has described Ramsay as “another Mason”, potentially representing the general thoughts of the fanbase in the early stages of a head coach hunt.
