West Brom player sends touching message as loan deal terminated
West Brom announced Harry Whitwell’s return from his loan spell at Forest Green Rovers on Wednesday.
Whitwell was loaned out in the summer, after making his Championship debut for Albion last season.
The 20-year-old has featured in many games for Forest Green this season, and is a main reason as to why the side is competing at the top end of the National League.
Whitwell is an exceptional young footballer, and thankfully for the Baggies, his loan spell seems to have only fast-tracked the attacker’s development.
Following West Brom‘s decision to recall the youngster, Whitwell has sent a parting message to supporters of Forest Green.
Harry Whitwell comments on ‘special’ loan spell with Forest Green Rovers
West Brom have a talented youth set up, and have done for many years, with the likes of Rio Parmar, Charlie Blackshields, and Jack Bray now next up to make their breakthrough.
Whitwell has given internal figures at Albion belief that he can be a useful player for the Black Country Club in the future, as his loan spell was truly a success.

After the announcement about his recall, Whitwell wasted no time in jumping to Instagram and sharing a farewell message to those associated with Forest Green Rovers.
The message read: “Thank you. I’ve enjoyed every minute of it and thank you to the fans, staff and players who made it all special.”
It’s unclear what the Baggies will do with Whitwell next, and a loan move to a side higher up in the football league could be on the agenda.
Robbie Savage reacts to Whitwell recall
Forest Green manager Robbie Savage will now have to look for replacements in the January transfer window for his side, who currently sit third in the National League.
Savage previously called Whitwell “outstanding” after the attacking midfielder’s debut goal for Forest Green back in August.
Now, the Forest Green Rovers boss has reacted on X to Whitwell’s parting message, as it seems the former Manchester United man will miss the West Brom star.
Ryan Mason never seemed keen on using his youth players for Albion, but now that he’s gone, Whitwell, along with others, may benefit.
Time will tell, but the youth starlet’s future at The Hawthorns looks bright.
