Daryl Dike sends message as latest West Brom surgery confirmed

Daryl Dike has never quite made it at West Brom.

West Brom sacked Ryan Mason this week after yet another defeat at Leicester, making it another manager that the striker has failed under at The Hawthorns.

Eric Ramsay has agreed to take over at West Brom, joining from MLS side Minnesota United once it has been made official.

That American link may be exactly what Dike needs to finally shine, with the Welshman returning to the United Kingdom after years away.

Unfortunately, though, he won’t have a full squad to choose from immediately at West Brom.

Tammer Bany surgery completed

Tammer Bany has been a failure at West Brom so far; that is no secret.

West Brom have confirmed that Bany needed surgery on a thigh injury that will keep him out for months, with fans calling the latest update “ludicrous.”

That has now been completed, with no end in sight currently.

Bany took to social media after the procedure, writing on Instagram: “Alhamdulillah, surgery went well. Now patience, hard work and faith.”

Dike was quick to respond, likely feeling his pain, saying: “Speedy recovery, my man.”

Daryl Dike’s injury record at West Brom

Dike is one of the nicest men in football, and it has been heartbreaking to see his struggles.

That was on full show back in 2024, when he ruptured his achilles against Ipswich, being forced into tears when driven off the turf at Portman Road on a buggy.

The striker has suffered a thigh injury this season already, and was an unused substitute in that defeat against Leicester last time out.

Since signing for West Brom, Dike has missed 147 games through injury, according to transfermarkt, which is shocking when you think it’s only across five seasons.

Dike has been linked with a move to Blackburn, but with Ramsay set to arrive, he could be set for one final chance to really prove his worth at The Hawthorns.

Bany may not get that chance, and with Jordan qualifying for the 2026 World Cup already, it’s an awful time to pick up such a serious injury for the playmaker.
